Hmm. Change the future, go back to “the present”, present your search results and eliminate the future that you’d sand boxed. While that completely invalidates your work (no reference material anymore), it’s also great for “burying the bodies.”

Philosophically speaking, though, the people of the future do will in the future though, which, from their relative perspective, will be their present, and they may not take kindly to your meddling, especially if said meddling ends in some sort of disaster for them. And they’re in the future, so they’ll have time machines too, so…basically what I’m getting at here is that the future may want revenge, and we could be talking about a “time travel war” or some such of two different points in time trying to get even on the other.

Oh, and there’s all the paradoxes to consider too—at least make sure your form of time travel can work around those first before trying this.

An very unsettling thought is the past could be changing as we speak and we would never know it. Or we could be living in an timeline that was altered into an bad one. That one bothers me the most.
