A friend of mine had a chance to visit one of those clothing stores where you can easily pay $500 for a shirt. He had a chance to try on some of those shirts, and pants and some other items. He later told me about the adventure. “I never in my life would have, and I still never will, pay $500 for a shirt,” he said. “But now I see why people do.”
The last thing I need is one more expensive piece of gear — shoot, one more piece of gear at any price — that begs me to spend time on it that I don’t have. So I’ve never owned a stand-up paddleboard. But I’ve seen the pictures and I’ve heard the stories, and water is water, and I think I can see why people do.
I had been playing guitar for 40 or so years the first time I ever saw a Taylor guitar; it was also the first time I had seen a $2,000 acoustic; I played one chord on it and understood why. But I’ll probably never own one

If a human can do it, I can try it, pretty much my motto, with exceptions of course.

I used to hate SUPs as a lousy form of waterborne mobility. I then learned the were and excellent tool for improving balance.

What’s a PFD? I’ve bought fabric that was Prepared For Dyeing (PFD) but I’m 100% certain that’s not what he’s referring to.
