OK, I think you’re saying you want open borders and let everyone in. If so, then where are all the jobs for these people, or are you saying we should raise taxes so we can support even more people who do not have jobs? And if thru some miracle these people were to find jobs, what happens when the next recession occurs? And let me tell you it will occur, and do we do what we did after WW2, which was kick all the illegals out to make jobs for the returning soldiers? It’s all well and good to feel empathy for those that are worst off than ourselves, but there are consequences for every action. It’s just that people don’t think it totally thru.
Jobs have traditionally been the reason for cross border migration. The jobs are there. Especially now that unemployment is at a record low. I say let the migration be legitimized so these workers can organize for a living wage. And no, I don’t mind paying a little more for consumer goods & services so that people can make a decent living. Yes, recessions will always occur as long as we maintain a boom and bust, catch as catch can, devil take the hindmost Las Vegas style capitalist economy. All the more reason to adopt reasonable economic regulation.
