It’s the stores’ way of keeping you from leaving.

Right. Save the refrigeration to keep the server farms working around the clock.

We are both introverts and don’t like going out that much. Online shopping, even grocery delivery is sometimes better than going out sometimes.

I remember the days when Air conditioning was advertised by stores to get us poor un conditioned people in their store. Worked too! Goodness I am getting or have gotten old!

Believe me, I’m no critic of air conditioning. It’s one of the top inventions that truly changed the world, mostly for the better, at least up until if and when it backfires on the atmosphere. And closer to my own sphere, for certain people who mean a lot to me, it’s more than a matter of comfort; it makes the difference between a good life and a miserable one on an awful lot of days per year. And in a very personal, albeit correspondingly shallow sphere, paper behaves a whole lot better when it’s not that humid. So I like air conditioning. But man, it can defeat its own purpose when we get too carried away with it.

Same thing about shopping, I suppose, online and otherwise. The poison is in the dose. The bargain is in the amount. And either God or the devil is in the details, depending on whom you ask.
