I used to do that when I was a teenager. My Mom would shake her head a mutter when she’d ask when my Dad or someone or something happened & I answer at the end of or during and name the program. I think she memorized the schedule so she could figure out the time.
When I was little (six or seven, maybe) I was allowed to stay up until half-past Milton Berle. The Texaco man would bring out a table and start to do something, but I never got to see what it was. :-(
Ah ! True entertainment with real Actors with good story lines/plots. Movies and shows that kept your interest with the performances of the Actors, etc.,Not with computer images, and redundant violence/plots and unrealistic action scenes(How can a car racing down the street rear end a parked car and go flying 20-30 ft.into the air tumbling back down to explode and yet the parked car Did Not Even Move At All ?? Just one example.Defying all laws of physics.etc.) with unnecessary extremely Loud sound tracks over powering/blocking the script/voices.Another example, how can a car ,no matter how powerful of a drive line, break loose and tow a extremely large Safe that weighs so much more than the car at high speeds down the road? All that would happen due to traction and weight considerations is burn the tires off the car. I mean really??I know it’s is just fiction meant to entertain us.I am more entertained by the older movies and shows,to each their own.

I watch the western channel mostly. No cussing and they still thank God. Amazing how the world has changed!

I can tell what time it is and I don’t need a tv to help.

And use terms like “quarter past,” “half past,” and “quarter til” which made a lot of visual sense when it was all analog.

When I think of the state of today’s television I say, “Put me on the first stagecoach to Dodge City or the Pondarosa.”
