I wonder how most traditional superheroes deal with any and all of their equipment. I decided to watch the older Batman movies (the 1989-1997 ones), and I wondered-what is the practical use for rubber nipples on a Batsuit?
@Thirdguy and caratacas,
“…wearing a kilt and a tam o’ shanter, too.”
Thirdguy, why aren’t you Firstguy or Secondguy?
Caratacas, where did you get that name, or is it your real name?
Caratacus (also spelled Caractacus) was a British Chieftain that led the resistance against the Romans. (please note Caratacus’ avatar - Stonehenge).
His name has been lent to a number of literary characters over the years. Not the least of which can be found in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and the Harry Potter series.
The name is also used as the subject of a humourous song by Rolf Harris - The Ladies of the Court of King Caractacus.
Wiseguy411,
I didn’t notice the avatar until you mentioned it. caratacas doesn’t capitalize his name, and ends it with as rather than us. Thank you for the information. You are historical and Calvin is almost hysterical.
BTW, are you British or from England?
Ray C,
Thank you for the link to the song. I knew Tie Me Kangaroo Down by Rolf Harris. Superfrog might know that one, too.
“rolling on the floor” laughing…
Chitty Chitty bang Bang is still my favorite movie!!
I couldn’t tell you the last time I wore snow pants…
Puddleglum2 I have never heard that entire song, but I have a friend that sings parts of it!!! (tie me kangaroo down)
Puddleglum Here’s an answer about my name, hopefully without boring you to tears.
I am a tenor soloist in church and commununity chorus. Years ago when my daughters were small, we enjoyed watching the three tenors concerts together. And after I sang at a concert, I would ask my daughters, “How was I”? And my youngest would say, “Dad, you were better than the thirdguy.” She was referring to Jose Carreras, and in her loving eyes, I had better sound than he did. What she didn’t know, was that at the time he was still recovering from Cancer, and the strain was still evident in his voice. In his prime, I couldn’t have touched him. And I was never even close to sounding like Luciano Pavarotti, or Placido Domingo.
But on a good day, I am not bad.
Calvin, this is why real superheroes wear tights!!! They may not be as warm in the winter time as snow pants but they’re a whole lot easier to put on and take off … and their zippers never get stuck because they don’t have any!
This cartoon reminds me of an episode in my own life. I have worked as a professional background actor for some thirty years. Some years ago, I went out to Tooele, Utah to do a night shoot for Species Two. The costume guys gave me an aviator’s suit to get into. I managed to get it half way on and then got completely stuck in it. I walked by, and said hello to, Ben Kingsley on my way over to get some help getting out of the suit and getting something else to wear. Not a clue as to what he was thinking about me, which is just as well, I’m sure. Sic transit gloria mundi…..
puddleglum2 NO! at least this 25 year old doesn’t wear snow pants!! Layer up with exercise pants and a pair of really old really big jeans!! Works much better!

Calvin’s thinking, “I wonder if Superman ever had this problem.”
Yukoner almost 14 years ago
After he struggles into his snow suit and then into his Stupendous costume, Calvin will suddenly realize that he needs to go pee.
That’s how it usually worked around our house when the kids were little and we were getting ready for trick-or-treat on Halloween.

Stupendous Man’s plans have encountered a snag. Zip your eyes, ‘everyone’! After Calvin zips his pants, maybe Hobbes will zip his mouth.

LeslieAnne, It’s mostly ‘tie me kangaroo down’, sport, anyway, at least in the chorus. You can find it on youtube. Do 25 year olds wear snow pants?

The material of snow pants is stronger as this of normal pants and so you don’t have to buy new pants so often, it is cheaper!
