I don’t think that counts as reading.

I watch with the closed caption on because the speakers are in the rear of the set and I can’t hear the damned thing.

Now all you need, is a sense of humor Gladys.

What sense of humor?

He can read faster when the TV tells him what the word is.

Being Dutch, I am used to seeing the translation of foreign movies in subtitles. But also when watching movies on the BBC channels (that we can receive in The Netherlands) I turn on the page 888 subtitles. I feel that hearing the lines spoken at the same time as reading them, improves my English. I’m frequently learning new words.

I like books! They come with their own sub-titles! :>)
