Well, first of all, if you love someone, they never look awful… since beauty is in the eye of the beholder (as long as they don’t smell awful :-) To me, Jon looks like a cactus, and I would be afraid to touch him - but to Liz, I think it would be different.
Second of all, I am not at all sure whether Garfield is “not moving” to reassure Jon he won’t throw the rock? or to avoid having a rock thrown at him?
And finally, JMLARES, I read PRFESSER’s comment as political commentary, and personal SUPPORT for the human rights of Muslim women under fundamentalist law.
Surely, women in these circumstances are not subjected to DAILY stoning, however, the THREAT of it is constant, like a deadly disease not yet active. It is always an ax waiting to fall and destroy. This status provides anyone who does not like a woman with opportunity to testify against her and set her up for ostracism or death. This is not a state in which I would want to live, … would YOU?
It was about women’s rights, not about race. Much of the world’s muslim population is not black.
And if anybody makes the rules, it’s the artist and sponsor. No need to get vicious.
Exactly. I don’t care for political stuff myself, but that comment was very offensive. It’s not like people there even have the choice to leave, especially women.
ARrrrrghhhh!
No, I wasn’t agreeing with you! You led the attack.
I was asking you to carefully consider what you read.
I am sure he did not mean it derogatorily, but as an acknowledgment of injustice.
bestis2come, I’m right there with you! Not a racist remark at all. More like an observation of a sad fact. What I’d like to know is where are all the US women’s lib-ers protesting this horrid treatment of women and girls? Hmm?

Jon, you are one handsome man. No wonder Liz is so into you. Is it possible she’s the one who threw the rock?
stormydaze almost 14 years ago
most likely the neighbor is miffed about something Garfield has done to her dog.

Mrs. Feeney

Garfield must have eaten, trampled, and/or done something completely unspeakable to Mrs. Feeney’s roses again.

Tatenda, every once in a while it dawns on me that this is still going on - and it sickens me how easy it is to forget.
