How often? That’s a rather personal question! Come on, Hadley, there’s no need for those measures – as George Costanza once said, you know we’re living in a SOCIETY!
Meanwhile , Sorry I really have to take this call from my office . I’m sorry everyone but I’ve been called back to Chicago to defend R Kelly. Have a great year in school this year Tiki wherever it might be. Come on Daddy let’s go I’ve got a plane to catch ,in all reality .
There is a federal law, the Vento-McKinnie Act, that allows children whose family becomes undomiciled [homeless] to remain in their original school district, if so desired. This permits children with unstable housing arrangements from having to change schools while bouncing one residence to another. I’ve used it many times to assist families to remain in the district of their choice.
I think it’s funny that Tiki is just sitting there and not allowed to say anything. How about all those kids Gil has stashed at the Milford Holiday Inn?
P4: “…actually, yes….. it’s called residency verification, son, and every student needs to do so when they register for classes…all you need is some utility bills and a lease or mortgage statement. Do you have those documents with you?…”
Wow, Whigham thinks highly of today’s strip. 8/10 for this crap?
What the hell is she talking about with sign-in sheets? You mean have the students sign in to their registered homes? Is the Board this stupid and afraid of lawyers to not push back against these dumb arguments?
And speaking of dumb, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is ready: https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/
Since the only genuine means to verify residency is 24/7 observation, Hadley is making a point about the cost of certainty, said cost to come from the school budget.

I actually like her argument. She reminds me of my high school debate partner.

And Hadley shows just why she’s considered a genius lawyer!
Wait, genius isn’t the right word. What was the word I meant? Oh yeah, imbecile!

So, Hadley is in favor of school choice for everybody? Since all residency requirements or any possible ways of verifying them are nonsense?
Has she run this position by Pro Bono Lawyer Social Justice HQ? ‘cause they aren’t usually in favor of school choice …

P3- What in the name of The Wide World of Sports is she blabbering about? New hires for what?
P4- GilPa looking heavenward with an ominous overcast sky. “If you want me to do the cooking, let me shop for the groceries.”

Why doesn’t Milford charge Tiki’s family tuition? Asking for a friend.
