Dicky: one..
Dicky: boom! two outta two !
You might say the bar's been lowered for what I consider a successful day of parenting.
My recently deceased wife and I moved her Mother in with us 5 years ago because she had dementia and I would care for her while my wife worked. When my wife would get home I would say to her that I did my job and kept her Mother alive and now it was up to her. I managed to keep her Mother alive another 5 months after my loving wife died and it was very difficult all by myself.

There’s a t-shirt that says, “I say if the kids are alive by five, I’ve done my job.”

Anyone who lives past 5 is off to a pretty good start, though getting through the teens alive can be really tough.
