This is one of my favorites and without fail I mention it when I hear a parent tell a little kid 5 minutes left.
My son is 7 now and he has a fitbit that he can tell time on so now he knows how long 5 minutes is. No more telling him 5 minutes and then saying it is time to go in 3 minutes.

5 minute warning means “finish what you are doing. we are leaving soon” I’ve had to apply this to grown-ups, too

LOL! True! No conception of time….especially when having fun!
