Aggie: the scent of steak and kidney pudding (not a pie so much) drives me bananas. ‘New car’ scent means someone is trying to fool me, it is what used car dealers use to make any old bomb smell like it’s been cared for and only driven to church on Sundays.
On the other hand, it is pleasing to note that school exercise books still smell the same after all these years and therefore remind me that there was the unattainable Marie in my primary school classes.
Perhaps the smell of sump oil is the worst of all because it reminds me of a broken down car that adversely tested the tolerance of an esteemed girlfriend.
Maybe I would settle for no foreign scent at all, just the natural scent of a lass’s hair as she rested her head on my shoulder is sufficient. Yes, put that in your reply Aggie.
