    Good morning™, rehearsal audience!

Sally is not following this whole conversation all that well. For a fake reporter, she seems to have no idea what the play is about, even though she has already been told.

Good morning™ annoyed striped hairs !

Sally looks genuinely inquisitive, like she actually cares. Is she beginning to forget her mission ?

I guess Sally’s too young to remember the adaptation that aired on TV back in the 1970’s. I saw it in high school as a homework assignment, and wrote a report on it.

    “Y’mean “your town”? "

“No, I mean “Our Town” "

    “That’s what I meant.”

“So, y’mean when I said “Our Town” you thought I meant “Your Town” ?

“No, no, when I said “Your Town” I meant that you meant that “Our Town” meant “Your Town”.

“Ok, lemme get this straight…. When you said “Our Town”, you meant that I meant that “Your Town” meant “Our Town”?

“Well, no, it’s like , see, you said ”Our Town” which meant “Your Town” since “Our Town” is not the same as “Your Town”, right? So, when I say “Our Town”, I don’t mean “Your Town” which is "Our Town for you but “Your Town” for me, just like “Our Town” is “Your Town” for you. Get it?

" Uh.. Um.. Oh .. whatever!”

AAAAAAAAAAND yet ANOTHER wasted day. Could have done without Vitamin’s soliloquy and added an extra panel

Excellent use of the two-panel format. Rehearsals are underway at the Patterson Playhouse. We have seen Vitamin the loving husband and father, the flustered ham (Egad!), the victim of criminal violence. We very rarely see him on stage in his element. The role of Stage Manager is serious and sincere. He addresses the audience directly, breaking the fourth wall repeatedly, in keeping with the metatheatrical style of the play. The reaction of “Kassie” and Kandikane is instructive. Sally is clueless, clearly having done no preparation whatsoever for her interview. Kandi’s gaze is cast not at the stage, but at “Kassie.” She senses that something is amiss with this “reporter.”

Maybe my coffee hasn’t kicked in all the way yet. But is Kandi surprised that Sally, the supposed reporter, doesn’t know what “Our Town” is about (Even I have a somewhat better than vague idea on that,)? Or, is it that the gag was supposed to be that Sally got the name wrong?

Sally is blowing her cover/assignment big time when she asks Kandikane what Our Town is about

A bit of irony here: Sally (purportedly a redhead) is a stereotypical “airhead” while Kandi, a blonde, is the smart one.

1- Who put a gravestone here with my name on it?!?! 2- LOLA: So that’s Sugar Daddy. And he thinks he’s the father. BARBER: Yeah. He’s not too bright. And as you can see, he can’t take a hint either.

Trenchant criticism from Kandikane in response to Kassie’s (Sally’s) honest question (maybe the only honest thing about her; she is unfamiliar with Wilder’s play, clearly). Too bad Sally’s a villainess. In another universe she and Kandikane could have become good friends!
