You didn’t “give” it to them, Shoe. They took it from you at the point of a gun.

That question should be “what did you do with all the money I gave you this year?!”

My husband does our taxes. A few years ago the IRS said we had underpaid and owed $10,000. My stubborn husband said we did not and he and the IRS argued by letter for several months as the amount we “owed” grew. Finally we got another IRS letter which admitted they had made a mistake, but we did owe $150. I said Hurray! Send them a check! Husband (did I mention he is stubborn) said no we did not owe them any more money. The IRS eventually did notify us that we did not owe them any more money. One year they even said we’d overpaid and sent us a check. Which, of course, my husband said was their mistake and sent it back. So, in my opinion, the IRS people are not evil. Their computers may be.

Asking where your tax dollars went is like inquiring about the ingredients in your favorite sausage, Cosmo. You’ll be happier and sleep better not knowing.

This strip of course uses birds as its main characters. That being said, you don’t often see any of those birds flying.
