True story: I was at the hardware store last weekend and a lady came in with a box cutter she had just purchased with the intention of cutting some styrofoam sheets down to size in the parking lot so they would fit in her vehicle. She had to bring the box cutter back in because she couldn’t open the plastic package. Helpful staff did that for her; using another box cutter. Moral of the story: You need what you already have to get more of what you already have.
I suppose they put the products in those things to deter theft. I see that all the time at Costco (where I presume easily-hidden packages might get stolen). However, I don’t understand why Amazon products are packed that way.

It’s totally ridiculous! I’m sure the cost of any item would be less if they used other means to seal packages.
