Tuna fish, no celery.

Probably wasn’t a bad dream to him.

Hopefully he’s ready to eat Moe and get Calvin’s truck back.

Mom, you’ve been having a bad dream since Calvin was born.

Ouch! Mom got bitten by a Hobbesian nightmare.

Yes, make him one, please. Anyone agree?

Mom’s initial expression looks like the one where Calvin barfed.

Sure. Let’s make Hobbes a CALVIN sammich…. mwahahahahaah….

It’s astounding how the parental idea of getting Calvin to eat something by playing up how Hobbes likes tuna sandwiches has come back to bite them.

Or at least, if not astounding, amusing. Later. From a considerable distance. Maybe.

Yesterday’s discussion could be started all over again! Why does Calvin need an imaginary tiger when he has such supportive parents! His mother doesn’t realize who exactly had a bad dream!

So much for his concern about people being greedy.

He does look a bit peckish.

Mom, please make Hobbes a sandwich. See, here are the scratches and bite marks Hobbes gave me.

Mom, you’ve been having this nightmare for years—-and you’ll be having it for many more years to come!

Clearly Calvin had the bad dream and woke him with an appetite…

Speaking of bad parents…

That “just in case” can lead in all sorts of strange directions.

I wonder how many of the commenters criticizing Calvin’s mom have children? When one of my boys have a bad dream they’re usually crying and in any case when they get up in the middle of the night, bad dream or not, they’re usually not coherent.

If Hobbes ate them all up, who’s going to make the sandwich?

Who’s going to eat it??

How do we know it wasn’t CALVIN who had the bad dream, about Hobbes eating him up?

Calvin is perfectly capable of making the sandwich himself.

Calvin – you are big enough to go to school, go make yourself a peanut butter sandwich. And don’t make a mess!
