When I was 8 or 9, I ate an entire bag of corn candy and got sick as a dog. My Mother helped me recuperate with toast and soup. I haven’t eaten corn candy since.

Maybe Rosalyn’s strictness isn’t such a bad thing.

better get some Pepto Bismal (chewables), Calvin; Hobbes will be fine over night

Too many cookies + a guilty conscience = One heck of a tummyache.

Not to worry, tomorrow’s a new day and you can find another way to get into trouble.

Calvin, no milk with your Oreo’s. Shame on you, you have to go the whole route, otherwise it’s not fun.

Unfortunately, some of us don’t get sick which is how I ended up obese.

As usual, he got away with it!!

Calvin could be a big hit at parties.

Just maybe the box of oreos had something to do with it.

I’m not really sure that Calvin feels bad. Just proud in a perverse sort of way. There’s are religious terms for situations like that—perfect contrition and imperfect contrition. In the first, you’re sorry because what you did was wrong. In the second, you’re sorry because of the punishment it earned you. It’s probably more complicated than that. But that’s the general idea. The cookies sure didn’t help.

Best thing is graveyard stew

At this point I’m not sure if Calvin is bragging about his evening or just reminiscing about it.

Ditto for eating a whole bag of “red hots” candy.

I sense zero regret.

In other words; “just another manic evening…”

Guilt and indigestion don’t mix.

You know, in the long run, I think we’d all turn out to be better people if we took our mistakes in stride the way Calvin does. Mistakes aren’t the end of the world, they’re the start of a new “me.”

back in the 60’s a little weed, a bag of cookies no problem

When in the US Marine Corps we could enjoy a steak dinner and then down an entire Sarah Lee Cheesecake with no ill effects.

Reminds me of that Family Guy quote: “Well Peter, I hope you learned your lesson.” “Nope!”

I can’t stop laughing, he and Ros just crack me up. the chat with the boyfriend was outstanding. Calvin and Hobbes is one of the best comic strips i’ve ever read. I’m 68 and always an avid comic reader, newspaper, comic books, etc. C&H just makes me laugh out loud,, i think it’s great !

Just wait till tomorrow, Calvin…..ugh.

I wonder if his babysitter went on to have children of her own.

Count your blessings. Calvin is a minor child in a comic strip, not a self-proclaimed “real world leader.”

Especially if they are Double Stuffed. I can never not eat a whole box/bag of them—then I can’t stomach it again until the next year when I repeat the whole thing.
