I got a “round to it” one year for Christmas from my in laws so I no longer could say “I’ll get around to it” to put things off. (It was a round wood disk on a rope with “2 it” printed on both sides of the disc.)
I’ve been thinking about mowing the lawn. I’ve also been thinking about why we think that it’s nice to have something that never looks as good as the commercials, costs time and money to keep it looking even as good as it does, requires care and feeding on an ongoing basis, and whose main use is purely esthetic. Then I thought about “trophy wives” and realized that the problem is far more pervasive than I’d first thought. Then I decided to go fix myself some lunch.

as if Nelson would be able to reach the controls and pull with all his might the ignition cord (not to mention handle the gas)

Tell him there’s the exact same chance you’ll make dinner if he doesn’t “get around to it.”

My wife and I talk like this all the time. She rolls her eyes a lot.

I did the mowing when we had a house as my hubby had very bad grass allergies. I think Opal should take her turn doing it.

Since I bought a riding mower, I actually enjoy mowing the lawn. No need to convince me.

“The mower is out of gas.” “It’s push lawnmower!” “OK, I’m out of gas!”
