@Number Three Today’s strip is not even slightly funny besides the extra panels and Andy being sober , our Hero Mr Andrew Capp looks stupid getting burned with trying out a badly made curry :o{ my avatar is of by Birth sign “Leo” smoking which reminds me that I have stopped smoking or wanting to a cigarette for nearly 2 years now , welcome back and how was your day? ours should be busy , with our sons probably visiting , but not hectic I hope, have fun and thanks for caring pal
Umm well if you have never eaten a curry then I guess you wouldn’t understand. 25 chillis instead of 25 grams of chilli powder will make a heated difference to any curry, so I don’t blame Capp at all.
I once tried to make Gapaschio soup. Made one “small” mistake. Instead of 2 medium cloves of garlic, I put in 2 entire garlics! When my son and I realized the mistake we calculated how much of everything else it would take to “fix” it we just threw it out. Wife did try some. Happy to report no vampires in the entire county for a month!
While cooking a pot of beans and rice once, I wasn’t paying attention and put in a couple of tablespoons of an atomic chili sauce instead of a few drops. The pot was inedibly hot. I split it into 2 batches, tried to dilute with more rice but no dice. Ended up tossing the whole mess.
One birthday of mine, the parents and I went out for Thai. The curry I ordered was VERY spicy; took more than one glass of ice water to extinguish the burning sensation.
A date once took me to a Thai restaurant. We both ordered fairly hot dishes: mine had whole red dried peppers in it. Foolish fellow dared me to eat a whole pepper, not realizing I’d been quite used to Indian-grade hot most of my life. When I called his bluff and chomped up the pepper with no ill effects, he got an “oh, sh*t” look on his face, but he manfully :-) took a pepper and popped it in into his mouth. Chewed. Eyes bugged out and I swear I saw smoke coming out of his ears. He glugged a glass of water to no avail. Fled to the bathroom.

Either the chef didn’t taste his own speciality or his mouth is entirely impenetrable.

I read recently that those who eat hot peppers daily live 14% longer than those who don’t. Their test sample included over 6,000 people.

This might have been funnier if the last panel showed flames spewing from Any’s mouth.

25 grams, not 25 kilograms. Oh well, what’s one tiny decimal point?

It will take a lot of beers to chase that down. :-)

Do you like curries? I love them but it’s been too hot to have them lately because of the warm weather.
Your “ditch the cigarette” anniversary is getting nearer and nearer!
Have a great week ahead, pal.
