I remember being 8 (or maybe it was 10?) and trying to envision what my life would be like when I was an adult…at 40. I couldn’t imagine anything beyond that. (My parents were 40 when I was 10, so that might have been why I couldn’t imagine beyond that year). I have to say, despite a LOT of bad twists and turns, things turned out pretty much the way I imagined. And that’s good. Or lucky.
