I remember when I was in Boy Scouts one of the requirements for the Swimming merit badge was “silent swim” which included swimming underwater for a certain length of the pool and surfacing without making a sound. I always suspected that the requirement was written by Navy SEALs or something.
I just HAD to check on this…here you go: With the benefit of breathing pure oxygen first, the current Guinness World Record for holding your breath underwater is held by Aleix Segura of Spain at a whopping 24 minutes 3 seconds! Most people in good health can hold their breath for approximately two minutes.Keep trying little ones!

My dad swore that I was a fish as I could stay down underwater a very long time. LOL Both pools and ocean. Plus I loved the ocean better.
