A 2006 reposting. Under George W. The welfare for the wealthy (in Canada, the phrase used to be “corporate welfare bums”) hasn’t changed much in other republican administration’s, while the current GOP senate is toying with ending Social Security and Medicare and raising the retirement age. It is, to quote the Brits, the “I’m all right, Jack”. The phrase implies an extended middle finger.
