Don’t forget Blondie and Dagwood. They’ve been married around 80 years, so they should both be over 100.

I thought “Apartment 3-G” ended ages ago. And someone commented somewhere that Dick Tracy is changing artists…when, in March? I may start reading it again. As for ripe comics, I don’t worry about geriatric online comics; it’s when a zombie strip like Peanuts continues to take up scarce newspaper space (for as long as there are still newspapers) that bugs me. DIE, ZOMBIE, DIE!

Everybody complains about “Blondie” and “Beetle Bailey”, but I still find those two funnier than most of the newer strips that are introduced. What I’d REALLY like to see is a blank spot where “Dennis the Menace” is. Back when Dennis really WAS a menace, it was a great strip. But for more years than I can remember it’s been barrelling towards “Family Circus” levels of “cute.” When was the last time Dennis actually did something BAD, instead of simply “rambunctious”?

Of course, since I read far more strips online than I do in the actual newspaper, it’s kind of moot. I’m free to read what I like and ignore what I don’t, and I don’t have to worry that a strip I hate might be preventing me from seeing one I’d enjoy.
