I got upset with my husband in the past because he didn’t listen to me when I swore for two years that I didn’t want anything for our anniversary except for dinner out. All of his friends told him that I didn’t mean it and he bought me something anyway. I was mad that he believed his friends rather than me, but I guess it’s because of females like Claire that encourages what they thought.
Not spending any money doesn’t have to translate into giving nothing. My husband & I exchanged cards we made ourselves. I was going to make him a heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie, but he started a low carb diet recently, so couldn’t eat it.
I love Rmom’s idea; while I don’t expect anything from the BF… especially since he’s deployed - The flowers I received at the door just now, made my day!
