I hate games like this. Other famous ones are “do these pants make my butt look big?” and “Do whatever you want.” The best thing I ever did for my relationship was to stop playing games. No one can read minds, say what you think.
My husband got us a pound of shrimp and a bag of organic, fair trade coffee.
I have a habit of not paying attention to dates, and forgot about getting the ingredients for the Scotto’s chocolate torte. There’s always this weekend.
I am not condoning Claire’s attitude, but I do understand it. We women wish that men would be romantic (NOT the “looking for sex” mode) because they love us, not because we’ve prodded them into it. Gifts should come from the heart, instead of an obligation.
However, by this point in my life (26 years of marriage), I’ve learned that men don’t think the same way as a woman, so if we expect them to act like we would, all we get is unmet expectations.
Claire’s acting really childish. I was married to a man (38 years) that knew I loved roses, so he presented me with them each Valentine’s Day. He died just this past November, so I’m really missing him now.

Uh-oh. That’s #3 on the things you should never say to your girlfriend.
Never explain, in great detail, why she’s out of her mind.
Don’t let her ever believe she’s not as smart as you.
Don’t describe how much better any of your exes did something than she does it.

As a female, I totally agree. Quit the dumb games when it comes to expecting people to read your mind. This story line is irritating me.

Claire’s life lesson, coming up!

Claire is acting like a spoiled brat. She’d better grow up and act like a reasonable adult before she loses Paul.

Wake-up call, incoming (and I agree, she’s got nobody to blame for this situation but herself!)

This story line is so 1950s. At least, I hope so.
