Put in “RED” instead of “READ” and you have a slogan from many decades ago…… but like a wise person once said in your rush to change things try not to become what you are trying to replace ;-) ……. Croc Power!
Political correctness….god forbid a kid gets hurt feelings because he lost a BB game…. he gets a trophy anyways…example……god forbid a person applies for a job and doesn’t get hired because he/she is not American, so they sue and accuse employer of islamaphobia and or discrimination.. Employer is forced to hire….this is total bullcrap! Political correctness is a manipulative tool to get what you want…god forbid their feelings get hurt.
World, I present thee with a cartoon about a white cartoonist and his drawing pen trying to make a buck traveling through capitalism. Tis greed, his career flourishes.
What’s really happening in this world is OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS BEING SILENCED by manipulative groups who WANT TO BE SUPERIOR, by causing grief to others AND BANKING THEY’LL GIVE IN TO THEIR WHINES AND Fake grievances ……WE MUST STAND OUR GROUND AND HONOR OUR CONSTITUTION!
To explain: a VERY small, VERY loud, organized cadre of radical left-wing extremists on social media have virtually taken over Young Adult (YA) publishing by doing EXACTLY what is portrayed in this cartoon. Publishers, agents, authors, and the media that reports on writing and publishing are completely cowed by this group. They are now publishing only pablum out of fear of angering them. See https://www.vulture.com/2017/08/the-toxic-drama-of-ya-twitter.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Looks like the earth is still ticked off about that other planet traffic accident about 6-billion years ago and it could not find a lawyer that would take the matter to court. And after, all day and night it just gets mooned.
Treat everyone with the respect that you want to receive. That said, I want a bumper sticker that says, “Ban guns for non-gender specific unborn baby whales that believe the earth is triangular.”
I heard the politically correct message as “treat other people the way you would want to be treated.” Doesn’t seem particularly hard—you just have to acknowledge that other people are, you know, people.
Pastis does a lot of comics making fun of the right, and a lot making fun of the left. No one has a right to be upset with him because he’s the ultimate neutral offender.
The pendulum swingeth, from one extreme to the other. First people are inexcusably “politically incorrect”, so some people complain. Others become fanatical complainers all too ready to take offense at everything said. That goes on for a while until people start realizing that those trying to force their umbrage on society are equally annoying, and we wind up with comics making fun of excessive insistence on being “politically correct”.
“That is a beautiful black woman.”
“You sexist, racist, beauty-focused bigot! How dare you compliment someone using wording which I strongly disapprove!”
“Aw go crawl back in your hole you asinine moron. No one asked your opinion.”
And so… instead of everyone cutting people slack because we’re all flawed humans, instead of people just trying to get along, we have a whole bunch of people trying to force their personal opinions down each other’s throats and telling everyone else what do do… because their own personal opinions are of course The. Way. Things. Are.
Welcome to mankind. NO WAIT… I mean… HUMANkind. No… no… don’t hurt me…. noooo put down that computer keyboard you’re hiding behind. Nooooooooooo……!!!!
; ) <—- this is a politically correct emoticon indicating the above is satire, so people don’t roast me over a fire for saying something that’s possibly true but with which they heartily disagree so I flat well better put a smiley wink there so as not to offend their easily-offended sensibilities. ; ) <—- another smiley wink just for insurance.

Not sure what to comment.
From what I can tell, people are so proud of being “politically IN-correct,” what Stephan describes above doesn’t ring a bell at all.
All the “political correctness” crowd was trying to do was get people to be more polite to each other.
Oh! I forgot! The rage to day is to be as outrageous as possible, to insult as many people as possible!
Somewhere along the way, we forgot the admonition of the Bible, Book of Mormon, and many other religious books: PRIDE IS ALWAYS A SIN.

Meanwhile, conservatives tried to end cartoonist Wiley Miller’s career for a squiggle that MIGHT be interpreted as the F word directed at Trump.
And they get offended when a store clerk says “Happy Holidays” because it was a friendly greeting, but not the exact friendly greeting they wanted.
