Poetry Book: I'm sorry, sweetie, I didn't hear. Could yous ay it again, but speak more clearly? History Book: For cryin' out loud, Elizabeth - why do I always have to repeat myself?
My love, I always read her like a book
Though I am fiction and she’s poetry
I read her poems but she would never look
at my stories based in history
When dating got to be too tiresome
I told her that I thought I’d like a change.
She threw to me a literary crumb
by reading songs like “Home Home on the Range.”
The music never worked to soothe my heart
I told Miss Poetry that I was done
She laughed and said “Don’t be a silly f-art.
For History can never stand alone
Dry facts are dead unless they’re joined to art.”
Thus I’m doomed to repeating myself
But at least my love is not stuck on the shelf.

cedes29 - That can’t be a picture of their kid - he had himself edited back in the ’80s.
