We should all smell like gentle flowers. Now folk, single file into the showers. We will lock the doors for your privacy.

Is that guy somehow related to Grace the Face? I see a resemblance.

And all this time I’ve been disposing of my waste fats in a less responsible manner. Damn!

(Wish I could dispose of my waist fats.)

the butcher shop is from the 40’s, when the saving of used cooking fats for explosives was encouraged, not the 50’s

    Re: The Blog

“Flower” appears to be a screen capture or promotional still from the British sitcom “Last of the Summer Wine,” showing the characters Nora and Howard on her front stoop. The actors are Bill Owen and Kathy Staff. The series was in production from 1973 until 2010, and was purportedly Queen Elizabeth’s favorite TV show.

I will now go and get a life.

Thanks for the Schulz link, Teresa! I just found myself a copy of Schulz’ Youth, which I did not know existed.

I wish I had had a nanny like the one in the blog!

The reading and window posts are marvelously tranquil.

    Great blog today!

With a nanny like that, I’d have to say La Dolce Vita, indeed.

Frida Kahlo, such emotion and torment in so many of her paintings. What a lovely woman. Of course many will probably disagree with me on that.

Frida Kahlo was not the only great Mexican woman painter. There was also Remedios Varo: http://www.angelfire.com/hiphop/diablo4u/remedios.html

In Mexico she is regarded as one of their finest painters, tho she is almost unknown in the U.S.

barticle, thanks for that link. I had seen some of Varo’s works before, but not a large sampling of them. You can definitely see the Picasso influence in some of the paintings.
