    While common sense may be construed as a type of intelligence, IQ and common sense are frequently strangers.

    One does not need to be intelligent to possess common sense, nor the other way around. It’s the difference between Knowledge and Wisdom. Example: An Absent Minded Professor has tons of Knowledge, but little Common Sense. Conversely, A poor, uneducated parent might not have a lot of book smarts (Knowledge) but tons of common sense in dealing with their kids. (Wisdom or Common Sense)
