There are very few true artists who have mastered the business of making a living through art. And very few business people who have any artistic talent. Unfortunately, among the few who manage to cross over, far too many end up creating the same damn thing over and over, because it sells. Remember the big-eyed Keane kids?
I thought this character worked for an obnoxious boss fielding complaints from their obnoxious perennially unsatisfied client while perennially trying to get his obnoxious underling to fill out his RJ-17 form
I think Scott has dropped into reality here and temporarily left behind the world of RJ-17 forms. Or, at least, some version of reality, where he is authoring a comic strip. Not realistic, you say?
A really clever thinking strip about what Scott is actually doing, selling his art. But that’s not a Nazi plane, it’s a WWI German plane. Is that part of the joke?

Stick with the Allies and go with a PBY Cat-alina. Or maybe a Flying Fur-tress.

It’s just plain dangerous for me to read Meyer’s strip while I’m eating.

Hey, drawing Nazi cats worked for Art Spiegelman. Of course, he wasn’t trying to be funny.

BTW, I kinda miss page-a-day calendars. They used to be so common. On the plus side, less consumption of paper.
