My wife sleeps with a bar of Irish Spring soap under the sheets near her legs. She swears it cuts down on leg cramps at night. I swear it keeps elephants from coming into the house at night. I’ve yet to see an elephant sneak in!
This is my own theory but it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that all this PR about vinegar & weight loss might be the idea of a bunch of advertising folks sitting around a conference table discussing how to increase vinegar sales. One of them might have said something like, ‘I bet if we advertise it as a weight loss aide, people will buy lots of it! You know they’ll try anything when it is said to help you lose weight! Won’t hurt to try, right?’ :)
The cure for the cramp depends on the cause of the cramp. Deficiencies in potassium, calcium and magnesium (as mentioned above) can all cause leg cramps. I don’t know if vinegar of any type helps; probably couldn’t hurt. For my leg cramps, I figure out which element I might be deficient in and take a little more of that and see what happens. I’m happy to say that in the last few years, I have been almost completely free of leg cramps, because those things are SO PAINFUL! I hope the Plugger above gets relief, from whatever source!

Well, barbers were also surgeons and dentists WAY back then (like say medieval times).

As with a lot of those remedies, hey, it’s worth a shot. I’ll try it for a week and see if it seems to help.

Apple Cider Vinegar is good for a lot of things, but it’s bad on tooth enamel. If you try it, be sure to brush your teeth right afterward.

i’ve found that a couple shots of tequila help. they don’t necessarily help leg cramps, but after a couple shots, who cares…?
