You learn to understand Yogi after a few years of marriage. After that, it just sort of… clicks… and ya go “ah, now I get it.”

I’ve lived in several small towns and always joked that they rolled up the sidewalks at 9:00 PM. The only cars on Main Street were in front of the bars, everything else was closed..

To paraphrase Yogi, Nobody goes downtown these days. It’s too crowded.

If Yogi had been an avant-garde New York poet rather than a baseball catcher, he would have been hailed as a genius with words.

I have noticed this in places on the East Coast, as well

When I’m shutting things down in the home office at 10 pm or so, and I see cars driving by, I wonder where on EARTH they could be coming from. Then I remember when my evenings just started at 10.
