Need a national program for the “basics” of disease and injury, with supplemental from “private” for such as liposuction or non-reconstructive plastic surgery of facelifts, etc not medically necessary. New Zealand for one has a pretty good program, like total out of pocket for pregnancy, childbirth, and midwife care after delivery for several months= $40 NZ. BTW, docs in most countries with single payer are private, not state employees.
