Reminds me of the scene in “Kate and Leopold” where the brother shows Leopold how to load the dishwasher, then warns him not to do it unless Kate can see. . .
I learned that on the first day of a summer break. My mother wanted me to be her domestic servant. The scar was worth it considering she did not let me do anymore cooking, clean up or laundry for the rest of the summer.
Understand there’s a difference between doing it “Your way” and getting the job done. If the job is to wash dishes, he doesn’t have to wash the glasses before the plates, or wipe them 4 times in a counterclockwise motion to get it done.
When I was first starting out on the job I eventually retired from, I had written a database program for data on the growing number of computers. My boss told me to get a clerical worker to do the data entry because he wanted me on more important stuff. After a couple sessions of this, and spending more time correcting her errors than what it would have taken me to enter it, I just did it myself and made sure my boss didn’t catch me at it. I also wrote a few systems for other departments at home because he didn’t want me spending much time on it at work. And actually, I didn’t mind this because, to me, that was fun…

Give a hard job to a lazy man. Either he’ll find an easy way to do it, or he’ll find someone else to do it.

Actually go behind and correct the little things that annoy you, the heavy stuff has been done

You don’t appear to be doing it right either, but we’re gonna let you keep doing it until you get right.

Y’know, Auntie, you gave up way too soon. “Practice makes perfect.” Do it again and again until you get it right.

My wife does not like the way I load the dishwasher or do the wash. I seem to survive just fine when she’s out of town.
