Is this the first time a talking anthropomorphic animal has appeared in the strip?

Are the groundhogs saying they’ve built bathrooms under there? Otherwise I can’t imagine why they’re so shocked.

These groundhogs certainly evolved fast, those must have been some special coffee grounds Sedine gave them! Give some to the bunnies and we might get our own “Miyamoto Usagi” on the strip.

From her expression, I’ d say kitty needs more fish fat in her diet to grease the skids a bit.

This method, for the most part, actually works; cats being rodents’ natural enemies. During my marriage, we had a nasty gopher problem in our yard (“13-lined ground squirrels” if you want to get technical about it…). In desperation, we came up with the idea of dumping well-used cat litter down the gopher holes. We always bought the natural pine pellets instead of the clay stuff, so it was a bit more “environmentally-friendly”. It worked like a charm. We didn’t see gophers in our yard for a couple years after that.
