As puny as most bread loafs are these days, especially the puffed up cotton they sell in this country, cutting is not needed for anyone over the age of four. Now a PB&J on real multigrain bread, preferably toasted, with a cold glass of milk and a banana on the side, is food for the gods. Gotta use real PB, though, not the sickly-sweet mass-market stuff. Most stores have a decent house brand ‘organic’ that they probably all get from the same supplier.
Almost forgot- when they are in season, a layer of fresh blueberries instead of jelly is a definite step up. Gotta moosh them into the peanut butter, though, or they fly everywhere.

PB and Dill Pickle is a good combination too.
