You know, it’s kind of nice to have an arc without Bucky and his usual insanity for a change. It’s oddly peaceful around here with only Rob and Satchel…
An old answering machine, yet new enough to store the messages digitally instead of on tape. I had an old AT&T answering machine that used two micro-cassettes (I thought it was better than the single cassette version)… I think I sold that at a yard sale (minus tapes) 20 years ago… :-)
Is it just me, or does anyone actually leave messages any more – other than robocalls or telemarketers? Admittedly, I’m an old curmudgeon, but how am I supposed to call you back if you don’t leave a message?
I know it’s meant to be funny and it is but for people with scizophrenia and their families it’s also very sad. People seldom make jokes about physical handicaps anymore so is it alright to make fun of ones you can’t see? I do enjoy the comics we all need more laughter. Perhaps this caught me on a bad day.

Love Satchels expression in the first panel.

Enlightenment at last! Our precious pooch sees the light and can now go on to some other bit of naiveté. Life goes on.

Better than a ringing in your eyes. You’d want to see someone about that. If you could.

Wow— a phone call that wasn’t a telemarketer or a scam begging for money.

Ringing in my ears, now that’s classic.

This is a great example of why I maintain that Bucky is the smart one in this strip.

Poor Satchel. Heart of gold. Brain of lead.

Presumably a reference to “BONG HiTS 4 JESUS” case ruled on by SCOTUS.
