Of course, resisting the wind will increase your pulse! Do you have a personal best?

    Feel the pulse-pounding excitement!

Not shown: Linda lives just downwind of the dump.

She is waiting for the answer.

I think I’ll mind my own views and completely ignore hers. She’s off her rocker!

    Oh yes.

And scientists … well, some scientists… say that thinking deeply about exercise affords many of the same benefits as performing it.

So… when there is no wind, I sit outdoors and imagine a gale.

Afterward, I feel just as exhausted as I do after an actual windstorm.

And if I happen to fall asleep during my concentration,

I am often certain that I have dreamt about the wind, whether or not I can actually recall it…

because I still feel the beneficial effects of such vigorous activity…. and the concomitant desire for actual rest.

Once those gusts blowing through her hair get above 30 mph, she has to really engage her core.

When I get a chance, I seethe impotently for a few minutes. Great for the heart rate, not so good for the blood pressure.

If you live in Oklahoma, this does count as exercise.

And so it is Linda.. so it is. Directly proportional to the width of the butt divided by the square of the speed.

Linda is checking for a pulse. The wind took her breath away.
