Rosco is a stinker! Not only does he have Chuck’s hat, he just ripped out Dear Abby’s answer to Noisy Romantic, which he desperately needed to read.

Whoa! Tonight’s poster shows another side of Bassetdom:

This Basset looks so brutal, so cruel, I really do not think I would try to give him a belly rub. But who knows, with a few cookies, he may turn into a pile of mush like most bassets.

Ballard Street dogs really do love their hats. Or anyone else’s.

Now that Rosco has the hat, he figures this means that he is in charge. And he likes the way that fits.

And again, the expression was enough for me to recognize the human version.

    Guid mornin’ Cleo clan….

    A bonnie poster from StelBel….

be the February 23rd, 2021 “Cleo and Company” …on Sherpa.

Bassetheart! An epic story of a brave, 13th century basset warrior… in glowing, gory detail…

a much beloved tale to fans of retold history, and of its star, Mell Yipson.

He returns from far flung travels, to find his Scottish homeland occupied by foreign masters..

and leads the abused local dogs, in throwing off their leashes, and rising in glorious revolt.

The film is pretty much a paean to Yipson, his basset machismo, and Scottish warriors of auld.

Some in Scotland love it, for the tourists it has brought, and the renewed interest in Scottish history and culture…

However, those who dig deep into that very history and culture are not so fond of its revisionism and many inaccuracies…

especially the descendants of the brave Sottish terriers who actually fought those battles.

But we all know that handsome basset hounds sell tickets…

and that movies have been basset-oriented for generations of canine lifetimes.

Many a pup of every breed has been inspired to feats of daring, by watching Yipson battling the invaders in his anachronistic belted plaid…

And many Scottish hearts are quite happy with the glory the film has brought to their country and its dogs.

See it for yourself… if you don’t mind violent medieval battles… and decide.

Or come sit in the Scaredy Cat Row, where I plan be for this Saturday’s showing at the BassetPlex II, without actually watching it.

Another good one StelBel. I loved that movie. It’s really how i know for certain that i have Scott in my background. My great grandfather was named for him.

Good morning, Ballardeers! Q Date: 347.98747.17 National Banana Bread, Dog Biscuit, Spay and Tile Day.

Chuck’s not doing so well keeping paper away from Rosco either, by the looks.

They can take away our reproductive organs, but they’ll NEVER take away our biscuits! What an apropos poster from our Stel-lar artist.

Y’all go ahead and tile that shower stall and have some banana bread to celebrate. (((((Hugs)))))

Oh my goodness! It’s been years and years since we watched Bassetheart! I could watch Mel Yipson any day and not get tired. (sigh) I’ll meet up with you, Susan at the BassetPlex. . I hear they’ve installed swivel chairs so you can watch the good parts. I’ll bring the Cabernet.

Thanks, Stel for a great poster!

What an imposing figure Mel Yipson makes, mounted on his white charger! (And with such stubby little legs too!)

In 5 days, a certain basset named Cleo will live in our memories forever. So will Claude and Clara even though they will have their own website by then. Thousands of other comic strips will also live in our memories after they are deleted.
