When my second wife, who was much older than I, would start “getting on my nerves”, I would climb onto a shady part of the roof and hang out with my two cats for a while. She couldn’t follow me to The Cat Club and knew better than to try. :)
It’s a hose-made pond. Many years ago, on our trips to my parents’ lake house, we’d pass a small house in the country where a man would be sitting with a fishing pole in his hand with his hook in his lawn. He looked quite happy.

Some people just don’t realize that fishing isn’t the purpose of ice fishing.

Yeah he knows…he also knows Edna isn’t out there either. Well she is, but she’ll get cold and go in the house, then…silence. ah…silence.

Some people know how to fish in the sea of dreams, catching what they need, which may be something invisible to some others.
Those others think that’s fishy, because when they were told about this thing they call reality, they fell for it hook line and sinker.

It’s a Zen thing. You wouldn’t understand.
And there is less danger of falling in if the ice cracks.

Until she came out, everything was fine. Fresh air, solitude and no need to gut a stinky fish.

Doesn’t matter. Usually aren’t any fish, anyway. :)
He really should have a six-pack of cold beer to “keep him warm”.
