Milton will stay where is is until Margie gets down on her hands and knees and begs him…begs him to come out from under the sofa and fight like a man.

Until Margie gets up so he can escape.

I’m sorry but today’s strip is scientific impossible. Margie’s um, girth will sink the cushion down to the point where Milton would be squeezed flat. And since he is not answering, I’m afraid that is what happened. We have a Miltonpancake. Alas, I knew him well.

Oh my. I fear his disengagement is permanent.

His mental problems are couched in secrecy.

Milton is finding it hard to adjust to retirement from Ballard Garage and Sushi factory.

As long as it takes.

He’s making an adjustment to her crank shaft

Milton is at Harry’s Bar and Used Clothing Outfitter. That’s where he got the pants and shoes to make it look like he was still under the couch. Margie is going to be ticked when she learns his legs were from her favorite broom.

There once was a fella named Milton,

who was sick of those windmills he’s tiltin’.

It was all so darned lame, so disengaging from same.

To the space in the couch he done built-in…

This is where Milton feels most settees.

Every question means he has to start over.

Maybe if she stands up he can get out.

Upholsterers have odd ways to check the sag of the cushion.

It was a little muffled but I believe his response was, spring.

He can’t “disengage” until she gets off the coach.

Alas! I fear there may be no further disengagements in Milton’s future.
