    “The quick brown fox JUMPS over the lazy dog " is the usual sentence, because it uses every letter of the alphabet.

    Actually, the sentence ought to read “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” Otherwise the ‘s’ is not used.The long version of course is “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy sleeping dog.”I learned to touch type as a small child (being unable to see has that result!) and I well remember the drills I had to do.Dad had half a shad salad. Dad had half a… AARRRGGHHHH!
