Kid’s goal-to get as dirty as possible in a short a time as possible when there’s dirt or mud involved.;-D

I’ve only recently started reading this comic…. please tell me: Is the character in pink the mother or the father? The pink and the slightly long hair make me think “mother”, but the body shape screams “father”. HELP!

He’s a kid. Getting dirty is what they do.

Glad to see it. The phenomenon of being raised entirely indoors (usually in front of a screen) has produced our current crop of allergy cripples. Dirt and the attendant bird poop, etc., is the cure. It’s sad that when I was in school in the 50’s 60’s, there were a mere handfuls of true asthmatics but no kids with allergies everyone had to be warned about. It was simply not a thing anyone had to think about. But we sure did get dirty. If there was an allergen or a microbe in the environment, we encountered it early and often.

It don’t take long when you put your mind to it.

I once asked this of a group of children and one helpfully answered, "We used our hands. "
