    Industrial art, business art, I’ve heard it called a lot of things, but they all have some things in common.

    They don’t cost a lot – who wants to have a masterpiece walk out the door one day? Yes, it happens.

    They tend to be soothing – no matter what type of institution buys them, they don’t want people in the building to be more upset than necessary.

    They tend to blend in, without being boring (that’s the goal, anyway) – keep people who have to wait calm and alert without making them so intent on the art that they don’t hear when they are called for their appointment.

    It’s a lucrative business if you can break in, I’m told, and the paintings are generally quick and easy to do. So I’m told, I have never met one of the artists.
