This one, if you will pardon the pun, is quite a stretch.

The airlines used to have some high standards for their stewardesses, too.

Maybe a little bit of “swamp gas” would free up a few adjacent seats…..

I sympathise with the creature on this one. Now don’t get me started on the food.

They do “scale down” on legroom and seat width these days!

What’s a creature like you doing on a crowed plane like this?

This all started with the old defunct airline, Pan Jam. I’m ducking now.

Meanwhile, buses have gotten much more comfortable, plenty of room. I wouldn’t want to go coast to coast with them, but for intermediate length trips, where you don’t want to drive yourself but don’t mind taking a few hours, they’re a good alternative. And cheaper, of course.

I saw a news feature recently about sports stadiums shoving the seats in tighter so they can fit more fans in. Just what fans need. A loud drunk throwing up in their laps.

Very true. Spent 7 hours standing on a trip to Europe because the seat pitch was too narrow for me to put my feet on the floor, much less my knees between the rows. After that flight I felt like the creature.

Americans get bigger but seating space in airplanes gets smaller – go figure!
