Exactly… I see these $2 million houses in our local paper in the Variety section’s Real Estate puff pieces; I often wonder who, besides a winery, would need a 500 bottle wine cellar. That much would last me two long lifetimes… :-P
Lightly edited and photoshopped, a note to my nefew and wife who consider themselves Oenologists, but ’twixt thee and me, are just common Wal-Mart box winos.. >Snerk!<
Decades ago when we were young, we bought several plastic half cartons and hung them from each other with chains to make a wine rack in a narrow space next to the metal storage cabinets in the basement. 10 years ago when we had bed bugs and had to get anything that could “melt, burn, explode, etc” out of the house the wine was all dumped out as we had never drunk any and he can no longer drink alcohol due to medications and I never did. Only kept one two empty bottles to display wine corks he has turned on the lathe and an empty bottle that was bought (full) for the teddy bears on the label.

In my younger days I bought a 60-slot wine rack. Never held more than five bottles. Eventually gave it away.

If you have to explain it, maybe it’s not everything you thought it was.

Only one? More like a wino rack.

Bottle rack. Whether there’s wine in it or some soft drink I don’t care, as long as there’s enough to quench my thirst of the moment.

They don’t seem like the sort what drinks it as fast as they can buy it.

I agree with CallMeMeg. Perhaps one bottle lasts A&J quite a while. After all, they are nearly 70.

One bottle of wine in the rack, one bottle of wine. Take it down, pass it around. cork it for the next bath.

Ummm… Arlo! Looks to me like the bottle would be tilted the wrong way.

The bottom of a wine box is square and the spigot is going to drip down the side.

Where does the box of wine fit?

Considering how long a bottle of wine lasts around our place, that’s just about the right size

I’m afraid the ladies in my bunco and canasta groups would laugh at that one-bottle-at-a-time rack.
