Linus sits at his desk. He holds a pencil under his chin.<BR><BR> He writes in script: "Theme: On Returning to School After Summer Vacation."<BR><BR> "No one can deny the joys of a Summer vacation with its days of warmth and freedom." Linus reads what he has written.<BR><BR> "It must be admitted, however, that the true joy joy lies in returning to our halls of learning." Linus writes.<BR><BR> "So is not life itself a learning process? Do we not mature according to our learning? Do not each of us desire that he"<BR><BR> Linus walks, hollding the paper.<BR><BR> He reaches up and places it on a large desktop.<BR><BR> He walks back.<BR><BR> Linus says, "Yes, Ma'am? Oh... Why, thank you, I'm glad you liked it.."<BR><BR> Linus leans back in his seat. Charlie Brown, who sits behind him, looks up at him. Linus says, "As the years go by, you learn what sells!"<BR><BR>

Funny, but Linus started as a baby, while CB was in school already. Now they are in the same class.

Did people capitalize seasons back in the day, or is this just what Linus was doing?

So, is Lucy, who was younger than Charlie Brown in the early strips, in a higher grade in school than Charlie Brown? Could part of the reason for the diminished appearances of Violet and Patty be because they’ve advanced a few grades higher than Charlie Brown?

I’m glad I learned cursive when I was in elementary school, though I wish the school had me practice for more than 2 years. It will be a sad time when people can’t read Linus’s neat cursive writing any more
