Could have been a 413 in that ‘59 Dodge ( that was the first year they made the 413 ) but it sure would have been a screamer in the lighter Dodge!! Even my ‘58 Plymouth with a 361 in it will easily spin its wheels on dry asphalt if I’m not gentle with the throttle. My ‘60 Chrysler New Yorker has the 413 in it ( that was standard in the New Yorkers ) and even in the two and a half ton New Yorker, it comes out of second gear at full throttle at 95 miles per hour and goes by 100 like it never knew it was there. I have NO idea how fast it really would go if I had guts enough to keep the throttle on the floor for long enough!! The 1960 300F which was the same body style and weight as the two door hardtop New Yorker would go 147 miles per hour in perfectly showroom condition!
Why? Because it’s distinctive in a time when you can’t tell one brand from another without a microscope. Cars today fit into two categories: doorstop or suppository. JMHO

Is he afraid it will give the restaurant a bad name? Hey, if that desoto still runs more power to him to keep it!

A good question, seeing it’s taking up two of our valuable parking places.

That’s awesome. This strip’s usually stale but today’s was a good one.
