I always thought Air Force pilots had to have a certain level of intelligence , what with the expensive airplanes and the like.

Uh huh. Don’t believe it. Not after his own origin story showed he was a fat, lazy couch potato who would never have made it in the Air Force as a janitor. And his IQ shows he couldn’t have made it in the Air Force period, not even as a paperweight.
