Finally. At last Wally was able to say the “m” word out loud, although he’s known it in his heart for some time. He came really close a while ago: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2018/11/16
This was such a sweet moment! Chic has gone from calling him “Mr. Wally” to “Dad”, realizing that Wally and Kirbee are for all intents and purposes his adoptive parents. Wally has voiced the truth: he has a family to protect.
Duffy, the master of glib quips, is at a loss for words for once! LOL
Here’s a poser. What did Kirbee use to make the amulet? Could part of it have been made from the device holding Clyde’s brain before she buried it? I’m using this question to suggest the possibility the creature that attacked earlier was after it, and not Chic. If that may be true, then Chic handing it to Dufffy may provide the possibility of Wally figuring out how to unravel this mess.
The mysterious Topsider may also prove to be an ally. Wouldn’t it be a surprise if the Topsider that got paint splashed was the same person?
We really can’t blame Chic for remembering his real mother. After all, she was the only member of his bio-family who really loved him. And when she realized that her husband was willing to sacrifice him to save his title as Chief, she really let him have it.
I want to believe that she took the children and left before everything was destroyed. While it’s wonderful that Chic has a new family now, an encounter with his bio-mom would make for a good story arc.

So, Duffy has the amulet, Wally has his dittos and Alan, the Elephant Man, has his muscles. Well protected all around

I love how Chic started to protest, then realized Kirbee and Wally WERE a mother and father to him.

Your dad is not the one who helped make you. Your dad is the one who raised and loved you. For some, they are not the same person.

How ‘bout Chic’s friend the cockroach—-Irving, wasn’t it?—-seems someone of intelligence should go with them…

After this one, of course…

Wally’s been more of a dad to Chic than his biological father ever could hope to be.

Enjoy this tender moment, folks. There isn’t likely to be another in awhile.
